Course Description:

This course is designed to meet the industrial qualification requirements for Penetrant Examination. This method is used to locate surface discontinuities in non-porous materials. This examination is used to locate discontinuities including inherent, processing, and service defects. The training covers basic theory, test principles, products, equipment operation and standardization, safety, operating procedures, applicable techniques, applicable specifications, codes and written instructions used by the employer and interpretation of indications.

The course satisfies the training hours required for both Level I and Level II certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and NAS 410, revision 2.

Registration:

Class size is limited. This allows for maximum utilization of course time, hands on instruction, and equipment.

Prerequisite:

High school physics and algebra helpful but not required.

  1. Classes are occasionally scheduled to accommodate the requirements of the first few students. If you have a special time period desired for a class, we can schedule the class to meet your needs then post a schedule to try to fill the class with other students.
  2. Ask about group or multiple class discounts.
  3. We would like at least five (5) people minimum for each class. If there are less than five (5) people, the class may be re-quoted accordingly.
  4. We will be glad to quote a price on training at your facility. This cost is calculated on location and size of class.
  5. Payment Terms: Tuition is payable two weeks prior to the first day of the course. Fees usually include textbooks, handout materials, course tests and course completion certificate. Payment may be made by check payable to "Quality Testing Services" or by credit card (MasterCard, Visa and American Express are accepted). You may pay for your course at the time of enrollment or defer payment up to the two week deadline. A $10 processing fee will be added to all payments made on a deferred basis.
  6. Cancellation and Refund Policy: If you cancel your enrollment, we must be notified at least ten (10) working days prior to the first day of the course. Otherwise, only 50% of the course fee will be refunded. If we cancel a course, we will provide you at least five (5) days notice, and you will be issued a 100% refund.
  7. Most classes include books, hand-outs, and quizzes/exams covering subject material. There are separate charges for certification examinations (e.g. general, specific, and practical exams).
  8. All classes are administered by ASNT nationally certified Level III instructors with actual industry experience.
  9. All classes meet the following requirements as applicable: SNT-TC-1A (ASNT) ANSI/ASNT CP-189, NAS 410 OSHA Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) ATA 105
